You are provided with opportunities to grow socially through group activities such as drill and marching, serving as an officer in the club, and learning to work well with your unit members. Hopefully one of the main encouragements for you to grow socially wil be your association with a counselor, director and other pathfinder staff who show that they care about you and how you are doing. From this example of care and concern you should be able to be a better friend to your classmates at school and also to those in your family.
For your spiritual growth the club encourages a daily personal worship time for prayer and Bible study. There is also a reading program for the different age levels from book which will help you in developing a good character. Campouts, which are not only teaching you survival but also how to live with nature, and the many nature honors that are taught in the club will help give you a glimpse of the greatness and love of God.
And last, but not the least, is your physical development. If your body isn't healthy, your mind can't think clearly and you won't have the energy to do all that you need to do. This is the reason we teach such honors such as temperance honor, to warn you of the dangers of harming your body with drugs or cigarette. The hikes, the swimming honors, the exercise periods at the end of the club meetings are designed to help you develop physical stamina and strength.
Everything that is done in the Pathfinder Club is planned to be of lasting benefit to you. This is why it is a privilege for you to be a member. Along with this privilege comes the responsibility to cheerfully obey the club rules. The Pathfinder Club has written a set of guidelines to help each member in reaching the high goals that have been set. These guidelines we call our Pledge and Law. It is important for you to memorize them, understand them , and to follow them.
